CreekWatch

DETAILS:

Are you looking for a great opportunity to get involved with a community-based environmental monitoring program and become a Citizen Scientist? The Weaselhead/ Glenmore Park Preservation Society and CreekWatch is just what you’re looking for!

CreekWatch (creekwatch.ca) connects communities with the science and stewardship relevant to their local natural areas, empowering people to explore science by making it more familiar, accessible, and inclusive. Water quality data results are submitted to CreekWatch.

Adult and youth (12+) volunteers work in teams of three to six people using portable water quality labs to research and answer the question “How healthy are our creeks?” How healthy is the Weaselhead area? Come out, do the testing, and let us know.

Location: Weaselhead near Barry Erskine Bridge

When: June until October

Who: Sign up as a team or as an individual and we will connect you to a team

Time commitment: Weekly (ideal), bi-weekly, or monthly – and requires approximately one hour to conduct the tests (plus time to get to the location).

Training dates are listed below, but there is the option for other dates, if there is interest.
