Watch how noise levels change in the Weaselhead from data collected before, during and after the Ring Road Construction as part our 7 year SW Ring Road Impact Study.
There are approximately 45 species of mammals and up to 400 species of bird that use the Weaselled Natural area. Some of the animals will adapt just fine to the increased noise, others will avoid the area. We know that increased noise makes communication among birds much difficult which may lead to lower breeding bird populations over time.
But it’s not just the impact on birds that concerns us. Quiet spaces to connect with nature is incredibly important for humans. While people still have the nature to connect too, it is a lot different with this increase in noise.
We consider the noise pollution in the park a serious problem and if you agree please reach out to your MLA
